Holiday Buffalo Plaid with Walmart

Red is not my color.

Surprising since I grew up in Ohio and our #1 football team is Ohio State…their main color is red. But it’s not a color I gravitate towards…except during the months of November and December. When the Christmas season rolls around, I can’t seem to get enough of the bright and vibrant color!! And it’s gorgeous, and a little more subdued, when paired with black. So I started adding some new red pieces to my closet for the Holiday this year.

Buffalo plaid is such an iconic print for the Holiday’s and as soon as I saw this cardigan on Walmart, I knew I wanted it for this Holiday season. It’s a cardigan that will work dressed up for a night out (like here), with pants for the workplace or leggings for a casual afternoon look. So many options for one great cardigan. It also comes in a pretty grey buffalo plaid too.

For this dressier look, I decided to pair a gorgeous black lace peplum top with it. Lace is always a fabric I gravitate towards in the Holiday seasons as well. And if you’ve followed us for awhile, you know how much we love a peplum style top too!! The sleeves are a sheer lace but the body is lined so not see through at all. I also need to mention the ankle strap sandals I’m wearing. This is my favorite style of dress heel. I find them so comfortable and flattering. I love the closed pointy toe style of this pair and the large black buckle on the ankle. They fit TTS and would you believe they are only $17!!! That’s a crazy good price for a heel like this. I love them paired with jeans, like here, but this style also looks so good with skirts and dresses too. You’ll find yourself wearing these all Holiday season long.
