Wow! What a year, right? A year where we all had to adapt to HUGE changes in our daily lives. A year that has brought many struggles, sadness and hurt. But it’s also been a year full of blessings and great times. A few days ago we were looking back at pictures on our phones from this past year and thought it would be fun for us to share some of our favorites here. A little family…a little life and a little fashion!
Isn’t it crazy how early 2020 seems like a lifetime ago!?

Sports
Winter sports last year finished up just in time and then Spring sports were all cancelled unfortunately. We were very lucky that the kids were able to continue with their Summer sports though (I know for many of you out there this was not the case). Then moving into this school year, all sports continued but with some adaptations.
Dylan was able to cheer basketball, play softball over the Summer and then cheer Varsity for football this Fall.
Davis played basketball, Summer baseball, and ran cross country. We’re hoping this basketball season continues in January and they can start some games – so far it’s been practice only.
Drew did have her Summer softball cancelled but spent a lot of time playing tennis. She was able to cheer this Fall for football.
Travel
Spring Break plans got cancelled the week before we were supposed to go to Costa Rica. Such a bummer but hopefully those plans can get rescheduled in 2021. Instead, we rented a house with a pool in Sea Pines, Hilton Head Island and had a BLAST enjoying a socially distanced getaway. The kids were able to do all schoolwork sitting outside on the patio – not bad!
For the past 5 years or so, we’ve gone to the Greenbrier with friends. We were excited to keep that going this year and enjoy a weekend getaway in October.
Fashion
Now let’s talk fashion!! My favorite outfits always revolve around dressy casual looks. Below are MY top favorite looks from 2020. Tomorrow we’ll share the top looks you all loved this year!
Athleisure took on a whole new meaning this year and lululemon became a go-to for me. Jackets, fun tops, and a fun shoe are always my favorites!
Sleeveless ruffle top // Grey tank jumpsuit // Hot pink sweater // Velvet pants // Suede jacket // Camo blazer // Athletic style // Corduroy button-up // One shoulder // Boyfriend tank // Faux fur jacket // Flowy dress
BETSY
This year, even with Covid, was actually a great year!!! I loved looking back at pics and remembering all that we did. Yes, there was a lot we missed out on because of Covid, but there were plenty of good times too.
It’s funny how things were/are so different from State to State. Where Katey’s kids were partially in school and having sports, we’ve been remote learning with no sports since March. And for my daughter, who’s a senior this year, it’s not the Senior year it should’ve been.
Prom was cancelled last Spring, there was no Homecoming this Fall and I’m almost 100% positive Prom will be cancelled this Spring as well. Again, my daughter is going to miss both her Jr. and Sr. year prom. Those parts of 2020 stink!
Travel
My husband and I got a trip in to the Dominican Republic before the shut down. And my daughter and her school dance team went to Nationals in Orlando before the shut down. Our Spring break plans were postponed, but we ended up taking the trip in July instead and still had a fabulous time. We also did a lot of little trips this year to look at/tour colleges for Gracie. It was fun taking those short trips as a family. I took a trip to Charleston with my mom, we traveled to Nashville for a long weekend, traveled to the NC mountains a few times and had our annual Thanksgiving in Hilton Head. So all-in-all still a year full of travel.
Fashion
Like Katey said above, fashion was a little out of the norm this year, with comfort taking over!!! It’s going to be hard to transition back…I’ve loved all the cozy pieces and sneakers. And in 2020, I tried a few trends I’d never really worn before! Combat boots and maxi dresses to name two!! Below are some of my favorite looks from the year.
Brown Sweater look // Yellow Shorts look // Black Maxi look // Light Blue Sweater look // All Black look // Sweater Dress look // Olive Maxi look // Floral Skirt look // Ivory Cardigan look
We hope you enjoyed our reminiscing and if you haven’t looked back or reflected on 2020, you really should. It’s amazing how much we forget or overlook from the year.
Stop back tomorrow, we are going to share more from 2020. Our top selling items from the year. The top LTK posts. And more.
