I love a pretty floral dress for Fall. I think because it’s a nice change up from my daily jean looks. And I love the way dresses look paired with boots/booties!! This dress was made to go with these OTK boots!!
This dress from Uniquities, in Cameron Village Raleigh, caught my eye the moment I walked in the store! These colors mixed with the pink are gorgeous. There are so many great details on this dress…the full skirt, the balloon sleeves and the tie waist! Adorable.
It’s the type of dress that can be worn to so many different events, so many ways. Dressed down with a basic bootie or dressed up with a gorgeous velvet pump. You could add a cozy cardigan or a suede jacket. You get the idea!
So here’s how I decided to wear it.
1. OTK Boots – These boots are from last year and back again. They are a really great quality and super comfortable…also in black and grey. My tip for wearing OTK boots with dresses? Make sure you can see a little leg between the top of the boot and the bottom of the dress. So yes, this combo requires the dress to be short. It just makes for a more flattering look, breaking up the fabrics.
2. Shawl Vest – Oh this is so good. I found it at Ivy & Leo in Cameron Village Raleigh. And the name says it all… Perfect Shawl Vest. It’s one of those shawls that are a must for wearing over dresses, or anything, during the Fall and Winter when it’s chilly but you don’t want a heavy coat covering up your look. This vest can actually be worn 3 different ways…draping vest (like I’m wearing it), a shawl over your shoulders, or a poncho!! So versatile. It’s under $30 and comes in 17 colors!!! Now I think I need a second color.
