Girls trip to Hollywood Beach, FL

Hollywood Beach, FL boardwalk

Our oldest, Dylan, turned 17 at the beginning of February. Since Ohio is cold and gloomy this time of year, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity for a little girl’s getaway! Dylan, a friend of her’s, Drew and myself.

Hollywood Beach, FL was the destination and none of us had been there before. Just south of Ft. Lauderdale and right on the beach. It was perfect. We stayed at the Margaritaville Beach Resort. Spacious, bright and a gorgeous coastal vibe.

We flew into the Miami airport but flew out of the Ft. Lauderdale airport. If you can, I highly recommend the Ft. Lauderdale airport. It’s so much closer to Hollywood Beach.

Our room overlooked the waterway and there was a gorgeous view of some amazing boats.

The beach was gorgeous. We typically go to the Gulf side of Florida where the beaches are more shell-y. This beach has soft sand and is wide open.

Of course we were on the hunt for açaí bowls. Right beside our hotel was a little cafe called, Yogurt Ur Way Cafe.

Maybe the most important detail was where we ate dinner. But really – a good meal at the end of a fun day is a must on vacation.

Night one didn’t quite go as planned and we ended up walking down the boardwalk to a little hole in the wall Italian restaurant called Sapore Di Mare. There were 4 tables inside and a few more outside overlooking the boardwalk. Simple and quaint. The pizza was really good.

Our second night we took an Uber to a highly recommended casual restaurant about 5 minutes away, called Tiki Tiki (bottom left photo below). We sat outside which overlooked the water. Loved the tropical vibe. Oysters, salmon, pasta, and a cheeseburger – we ordered a variety.

Our last night we went a little more high end to a steak and seafood place just diagonal from our hotel, called GG’s Waterfront. It was a quick 5 minute walk. We made our reservations around sunset so we could get plenty of photos on the boardwalk with the sunset glow.

Our favorite for breakfast was called Ocean Alley (top left photo). Easy, relaxed and right on the boardwalk overlooking the beach.

The girls got up every morning to catch the sunrise! It didn’t disappoint.
