I strongly believe that everyone should do what is right for them. If you have any interest in any sort of aesthetic treatment (even just a facial), I highly recommend Juvly.
Since then, I’ve gone a couple more times and have been thrilled with my results each time!! Today I thought it would be fun to share my most recent before/after photos and answer a bunch of questions you all have asked about botox/dysport.
BEFORE:
My areas of concern are my forehead and around my eyes.
(Sharing my after results down below.)
Where is Juvly located?
I live in Columbus, OH and go to the Polaris location (I always see Christa Banner). There is another location in downtown Columbus. They also have locations in Cincinnati, OH, Manhattan, NY, and Ft. Lauderdale.
Do you get botox or dysport? And what is the difference?
I actually get Dysport – it is what Christa recommended for me. Dysport is Galderma’s (the maker’s of Restalyne) version of botox. They are really very similar. Both are muscle relaxers that will reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. 3 units of Dysport is equal to 1 Botox unit. The cost is the same however.
What age did you start getting it?
I started when I was 40. The lines on my forehead were making me really self-conscious. I don’t think there is a magic time. I’ve heard of people starting when they were younger as a preventative measure. For me, it wasn’t something I wanted to do at a younger age.
How long does it last?
Botox/Dysport lasts 3-4 months. You’ll notice some lines/wrinkles starting to reappear However, they will be less pronounced over time as those muscles are shrinking. I went 5 months before getting it done this time.
What areas do you get done?
As I mentioned above, my main concerns were the lines on my forehead. I was also seeing fine lines around my eyes, so we did a little Dysport in those areas as well.
Cost per unit?
So the great thing about Juvly is that they are open and upfront by including all the prices of their services on their website. Botox is $11/unit and Dysport is $3.69/unit.
Keep an eye out though. Sometimes, they have promotions and sales.
Does it hurt?
Not really. Trust me – I’m a wimp with needles. These needles are so small, it really doesn’t hurt at all. I will say, it is a little more sensitive around the eyes.
As I’m getting my forehead done, I usually hold an ice pack around my eyes to help prevent any bruising.
Any side-effects?
Sometimes, you might bruise a little. This past time, I did not bruise at all. I do usually have a slight headache the next day.
How many units do I get?
So as I mentioned above, I get my forehead and a little around my eyes done. This past time it was 120 units of Dysport which is equal to 40 units of Botox.
Do you get fillers?
No. I asked about this once and Christa said they don’t recommend fillers as they can look unnatural. I have been noticing some lines around my mouth and mentioned this to her. She recommended a cheek filler to help with that. I’m not sure that I’m ready for that yet. But maybe down the road.
AFTER:
9 days after dysport
A big Thanks to Juvly for providing services. As always, all opinions are my own.
