Unique color mixing with Nordstrom

While I was shopping and preparing for our trip to Costa Rica, I saw this darling ruffle skirt on Nordstrom and knew the color and print would be perfect for our tropical vacation.

Of course it’s a no-brainer to pair a white tee or tank with it, but I decided to spice it up and add another bright color to the look!!! This tank is actually so good. It has an exposed seam which is a fun detail, is loose and flowy which I love, and it’s also a silkier material giving it a little bit of a dressier vibe. The tank comes in 6 pretty color options.

Color blocking, or mixing unexpected colors together, is a great way to get a standout look. It’s actually been a really popular trend this Summer, and I’m hoping it continues into the Fall. There really are no set rules when mixing colors for a color block look. You can go subtle with neutrals or go all in with bright vibrant colors. If you simply want to ease into it, try just adding an unexpected color with a shoe or bag.

Now back to this adorable ruffle skirt!!! It’s hard to see in these pics, but it has a fun clip dot texture to it and a darling scalloped trim. Its all about the little details!!! And I just love this super bright color. There is a matching blouse here, if you love the look of a set.
