Summer heat is finally here which means it’s time for the BIG Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!!
It seems weird to be shopping for Fall items in the middle of Summer, but this sale is not one to miss.
I say BIG because it’s SO good – and different!! It’s definitely unlike all other sales that discount end-of-Season items – this one discounts all the NEW items coming out for Fall, as well as new pieces for Summer! Think boots, bags, jeans, sweaters – all that Fall fabulousness!!!
So we’ve been shopping the sale for years. Before blogging and now. We have found that every year – the best of the best sells out quick! Usually without being restocked.

WHEN YOU CAN SHOP
If you are a Nordstrom card holder (either the retail card or the Visa card) you can shop the sale early starting July 12-19. You can apply for a card here.
Two other benefits to having the card:
1. You earn 2 points for every dollar spent with the card in store and online at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. These points add up and you’ll receive Nordstrom Notes in the mail that you can then use for future purchases. 2000 points = $20 Nordstrom Note. I like to save mine and use them on a big splurge purchase!!
2. Plus, you’ll get a $40 Bonus Note when you make any purchase with the new card the day you’re approved.
The sale opens to the public July 20-August 5. But be aware that a lot of the popular items SELL OUT before the sale is open to the public. They used to hold some items back and restock when the sale opened to the public, but that hasn’t happened the last couple of years. So if there is something you want that you see in the catalog, early access shopping is your best bet.

We always go to the store to scope things out the first day of the sale and do a major try-on session for you all. In addition to that, we love to shop the sale on-line! The selection is greater than what our local store provides and of course the free shipping makes this a great option!

WHAT SELLS OUT THE FASTEST
The top 5 selling items in the sale are jeans, shoes, jackets, tops and the ever popular sweaters (especially cardigans!). These will go super fast. Last year, the stripe Topshop cardigan was so popular it sold out in record speed! So again, if you see something you like, don’t wait on it.

The sale is a great time to get a Fall handbag too. Luxury brands usually included in the sale that we particularly like are Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Minkoff. But more affordable brands like Sole Society and BP have handbags at amazing low prices too.
We also use the sale to stock up on Fall shoes!!! There’s always a huge selection of booties, sneakers and flats.
I never have shopped it before because its all gone.
