Not only is it sweater Season (many of which have big cozy necklines) but the Holidays are quickly approaching. Both of these are the perfect reason to try a fun new hairstyle. Whether that be an updo or adding in a simple accessory, Walmart is the place to grab some fun statement hair accessories.
A big trend happening is the comeback of hair accessories: AKA – Y2K hair accessories. Think banana clips, claw clips, scrunchies, hair combs and more! You’ll be sure to find everything you need to be on trend at Walmart! Most of these hair accessories are under $10 with quite a few under $5!
Today I thought it would be fun to use some of my favorite Walmart hair accessories to create a few simple hair styles that you can recreate this Holiday season.
Hair combs are a super easy way to add in a little fun. From rhinestones to pearls to just plain black – they come in a variety of styles and sizes.
To create the above look, I did a dramatic side-part with my comb. Then twisted back a couple small sections and secured with bobby pins. Then simply slide in your hair comb accessory.
Using the same hair comb I created a simple half-up hairstyle below. Gather up half of your hair in a ponytail using a small band. Just above the band, separate your hair and push up the ponytail through the hole just enough to create a little pouf. Slide your hair comb in above the pouf.
Probably my most used hair accessory is a satin scrunchie. Below I created a very quick up-do. Simply gather your hair in a low ponytail but the second time through you’ll only pull your hair part way though. I like this messy, relaxed look. Pull a few pieces out around your face to finish it off.
Probably the most-popular of hair accessories is the claw clip! Securely holds your hair while giving an effortless look. In this half up style, I twisted my hair around my finger to create a tight twist then simply added the claw clip.
